कृषि उपज मंडी में फसलों की बंपर आवक: सुस्त उठान और बारदाने की कमी से खुले आसमान के नीचे परेशान हो रहे किसान

श्रीगंगानगर। कृषि प्रधान जिला होने के कारण श्रीगंगानगर की मुख्य कृषि उपज मंडी इन दिनों रबी की फसलों, मुख्य रूप से गेहूं, सरसों और जौ की आवक से पूरी तरह पटी हुई है। जिले भर के दूर-दराज के गांवों से किसान अपनी छह महीने की कड़े परिश्रम की कमाई को बेचने के लिए ट्रैक्टर-ट्रॉलियों में भरकर मंडी पहुंच रहे हैं। लेकिन मंडी परिसर में कदम रखते ही व्यवस्थाओं की पोल खुलती नजर आ रही है। आज मंडी में अपनी फसल लेकर पहुंचे सैकड़ों किसानों ने प्रशासन और मंडी प्रबंधन के खिलाफ कड़ा रोष व्यक्त किया। किसानों का आरोप है कि मंडी में फसलों की तुलाई और उसके बाद वहां से माल के उठान (लिफ्टिंग) की गति बेहद धीमी है, जिसके कारण उन्हें कई-कई दिनों तक मंडी में ही डेरा डालना पड़ रहा है।

भीषण गर्मी और खुले आसमान का दोहरा संकट

इस समय पूरा जिला भीषण गर्मी और लू की चपेट में है, जहां तापमान 45 डिग्री सेल्सियस के आसपास बना हुआ है। ऐसे जानलेवा मौसम में मंडी में छाया और टीन-शेड की पर्याप्त व्यवस्था न होने के कारण किसानों को खुले आसमान के नीचे तपने के लिए मजबूर होना पड़ रहा है। किसान अपनी सोने जैसी कीमती फसल को खुले में छोड़कर कहीं जा भी नहीं सकते, क्योंकि आवारा पशुओं और चोरी का डर हमेशा बना रहता है। किसानों का कहना है कि दोपहर की चिलचिलाती धूप में तुलाई की कतार में खड़े रहना उनके स्वास्थ्य पर भारी पड़ रहा है, और कई किसान अब तक बीमार भी हो चुके हैं।

बारदाने की किल्लत ने बढ़ाई मुसीबत, किसान यूनियनों ने दी आंदोलन की चेतावनी

व्यापारियों और किसान प्रतिनिधियों के अनुसार, इस सुस्त प्रक्रिया के पीछे मुख्य वजह मंडी में बारदाने (अनाज भरने वाली बोरियों) की भारी कमी और ठेकेदारों द्वारा लेबर (मजदूरों) की कम तैनाती करना है। जब तक फसल बोरियों में नहीं भरी जाती, तब तक नई फसल के लिए जगह खाली नहीं होती, जिससे पूरी मंडी में जाम जैसे हालात पैदा हो गए हैं।

इस गंभीर स्थिति को देखते हुए स्थानीय किसान यूनियनों ने मंडी सचिव और जिला प्रशासन को एक ज्ञापन सौंपा है। किसान नेताओं ने चेतावनी देते हुए कहा है कि:

सप्लाई तेज हो: प्रशासन तुरंत प्रभाव से सरकारी स्तर पर बारदाने की पर्याप्त उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित करे।
24 घंटे हो उठान: ट्रकों और लेबर की संख्या बढ़ाकर अनाज के उठान का काम युद्ध स्तर पर 24 घंटे चलाया जाए ताकि मंडी खाली हो सके।
पेयजल की व्यवस्था हो: मंडी परिसर में किसानों और मजदूरों के लिए ठंडे पानी और प्राथमिक चिकित्सा की उचित व्यवस्था की जाए।

यदि अगले 24 घंटों के भीतर उठान प्रक्रिया में तेजी नहीं लाई गई, तो किसान संगठन मंडी के मुख्य द्वार को जाम कर उग्र आंदोलन शुरू करने के लिए मजबूर होंगे।

Bumper Crop Arrival at Grain Market: Slow Lifting and Gunny Bag Shortage Leave Farmers Stranded Under Scorching Sun

Sri Ganganagar. Being a predominantly agricultural district, the main Krishi Upaj Mandi (Grain Market) of Sri Ganganagar is currently flooded with the arrival of Rabi crops, primarily wheat, mustard, and barley. Farmers from remote villages across the district are arriving at the market with tractor-trolleys loaded with their hard-earned six-month harvest. However, as soon as they step into the market premises, the mismanagement becomes glaringly evident. Today, hundreds of farmers who reached the mandi with their produce expressed strong resentment against the administration and market management. Farmers allege that the weighing process and the subsequent lifting of stock from the market are exceptionally slow, forcing them to camp inside the market for multiple days.

The Double Whammy of Extreme Heat and Open Skies

Currently, the entire district is reeling under a severe heatwave, with temperatures hovering around 45°C. In such hazardous weather conditions, due to the lack of adequate sheds and shelter arrangements in the market, farmers are forced to endure the sweltering heat under the open sky. They cannot leave their valuable, gold-like crop unattended either, as the fear of stray cattle and theft looms constantly. Farmers stated that standing in long queues for weighing during the blistering afternoon sun is taking a heavy toll on their health, and several farmers have already fallen ill.

Shortage of Gunny Bags Escalates the Crisis; Farmers’ Unions Warn of Agitation

According to traders and farmer representatives, the primary reasons behind this sluggish process are a severe shortage of Bardana (gunny bags) in the market and the inadequate deployment of labor by the handling contractors. Until the harvested crop is packed into bags, space does not clear up for incoming fresh arrivals, creating a massive traffic-jam-like situation across the entire mandi.

Taking note of the grim situation, local farmers’ unions submitted a memorandum to the Mandi Secretary and the district administration today. Farmer leaders issued a stern warning, demanding that:

Accelerate Supply: The administration must ensure the immediate and adequate availability of government-approved gunny bags.
Round-the-Clock Lifting: The process of lifting grain must be executed on a war footing 24/7 by increasing the number of transport trucks and laborers.
Basic Amenities: Proper arrangements for cold drinking water and primary first-aid must be established within the market premises for farmers and laborers.

The unions warned that if the lifting process is not expedited within the next 24 hours, farmer organizations will be forced to block the main gates of the mandi and launch an aggressive protest.
